"I know no safe
depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the
people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened
enough to exercise their control with a wholesome
discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to
inform their discretion by education. This is the true
corrective of abuses of constitutional power." --Thomas
Jefferson, letter to William Charles Jarvis, 1820

GTPI Issues Press Release on Federal
Energy Legislation
The Georgia Tea Party™ (GTPI) announced support for several
energy bills in the U.S. House and opposition to four energy
bills in the Senate.
“Inflicting the pain of higher gas prices, higher food
costs, and higher electric bills when people are struggling
to find a job or to pay their mortgages is unforgivable,”
said Patti Gettinger, Vice Chair of the Georgia Tea Party.
“Congress can correct the impact by implementing or
rejecting selected legislation coming up for a vote in the
near future. We encourage citizens to contact members of
Congress, particularly their Senators, regarding these
bills.”
